History

 

Way back in 1952, in a small town of Vrgorac situated in Dalmatinska zagora, our great grandfather Ante and grandfather Milenko, taught by years of experience and resting on the knowledge of their family, decided to open the first official meat processing business established on the tradition of processing and curing meat. By treasuring the old recipes, which the founders had passed on to their sons who later passed the same on to their children as well, we have grown from a small business into one of the leading meat companies in the Republic of Croatia.

 

Today, the Pivac brand is a synonym for high-quality cured delights, among which our homemade prosciutto (Dalmatinski pršut), pancetta (Dalmatinska panceta) and cured neck meat (Kraški vrat) deservedly and proudly take first place. We will soon be celebrating 60 years of existence and successful operation. Therefore, we wish to share our history, tradition, quality and future with the large family of customers and friends we have gained in Croatia and worldwide.

 

 

Through everyday cooperation with more than 650 workers employed by the Pivac Brothers Meat Industry (Mesna industrija braće Pivac) and over 1,000 workers employed by the Pivac Group (Pivac Grupacija), we make one of the most respectable and largest family meat companies in this part of Europe. We continue to grow and develop resting on the firm foundation of quality and tradition.

In addition to the Pivac Brothers Meat Industry, the Pivac Group also includes the  PPK-Karlovac Meat Industry and  Dalmesso d.o.o.
